Some days you just can’t win. Chris is pretty sure of himself. Being the competitive type, I always try to get the kids to smile by challenging them to a pushup contest or run from first base to the fence when we are taking baseball pictures. I’ve been training at the Community Center for over three years and I’ve found brief glimpses of speed every now and then. I figured he could be fast, but he could be that fast. My ego wrote another check my body could not cash. You guessed it: I challenged Chris to a little half block race. My sleep-deprived brain had forgotten an important piece of information from last Spring when Chris had won the Gold Medal for the 400 meters at the State Track Meet.
What happened? You guessed it: EPIC FAILURE! After Chris blew past me, I suddenly felt my mortality and then next morning I felt other things…bad things. What was I thinking?!?!
Red Green was right when he said guys get into the most trouble when they say “Watch this!”
You can check out Chris in action this Friday as the Madison Bulldogs travel to Milbank.
Chris came with Mom and Dad last night to the studio. Here are a few of their favorites they picked out.
