I love daytime football, but daytime football on the 10th of November is still COLD when the wind is blowing. Hot chocolate was in short supply at Trojan Field as the Bulldogs faced off in third round playoff action against the Dell Rapids Quarriers. The final score did not truly reflect how close the game was until the middle of the third quarter. Check out many images from yesterday afternoon below.
The Madison Bulldogs football team dominated Vermillion in playoff action last night. Larry and I had our little green cards hanging from our neck as we tried to one up each other on the picture taking for the Madison Daily Leader. Check out a few images below from the game. More pictures and stats can be seen in today’s sports section of the Leader.
The ORR JV football team faced off against Colman-Egan in Rutland yesterday afternoon.
Sports can teach you lots of life lessons: learning the sacrifices needed to win and how to hold your head up after you lose. Being a part of a team means not letting down your friends and that can help motivate students to keep those grades up more than any parent can. I want to see everyone dressed for the playoff games so I can get them in pictures on the way to the dome. Keep those grades up….stepping off soapbox now…
Last night we had a late studio session which made me a few minutes late for the start of the game. No big deal I told myself – there would be plenty of time. I was wrong. As I pulled up to the parking lot the score was 35 to 0. I must’ve been running later than I thought…New rule when coming to Bulldog games: Be early.
Check out a few images from last night’s game below.
Taking pictures of volleyball is hard…yes even for me. Timing is everything to get that ball in the frame. At the start of the season, I get frustrated by my inability to get the height of the action. As the volleyball season ends, I have got the technique back and my success rate has gone up. I am still irritated with hands in front of the face and images that are slightly out of focus…and yes balls that are just out of the frame. Check out a few images of Rachel’s friends from tonight’s action at Rutland.
Congratulations to the Madison Bulldogs on a perfect regular season. Next step playoffs.
Caught the first half of the DSU football game this afternoon before heading home to work on the van.
Check out a few images of Taylor and her teammates below.
The stands were packed at Trojan Field as the #1 ranked West Central Trojans faced #2 Madison. The Bulldogs took the early lead with a Jacob Giles to Mason Hemmer touchdown. The lead expanded to 24 to 7 by halftime. Our talk on the sidelines between media was that the lead was not great enough for West Central to be out of the game and we were right. The Bulldogs were able to hold off the late game Trojan rally to win by 3 points.
The Trojans fell short against the Bulldogs during the DSU Homecoming Football Game on Saturday. Check out a few images from the tailgate festivities until the end of the game.
Check out images from the yesterday’s Trojan Day Parade. If you look close you can find Rachel.
Madison secured the lead early on this touchdown by Mason Hemmer.
From tonight’s game against Tri-Valley…
After football pictures of the 7th and 8th grade teams, I stayed around and took some action pictures of their games while I waited for Rachel to return from a cross country meet. Jerett had two possessions of the football in front of me.
I almost missed the action at the Rutland Gym last night. I went outside while waiting for a client to come look at pics and saw the cars at the school. I only could stay for a few minutes. Check out the images below.
Rachel and her cross country teammates ran the game ball through town to Trojan Field for the game against Sisseton. Check out a few images of the night below.
Blake Gusso added 6 points tonight as the Bulldogs beat Sisseton.
Our daughter Rachel was in tonight’s talent show before coronation at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse. Check out a few images from tonight.
It is the season for sports pictures. We delivered a bunch today including Brayden’s. Someone (Dad) ordered a bit late but Brad got it earlier today. Lots more sports pictures, band pictures, family pictures, school pictures. baby pictures and wedding pictures coming back from the lab over the next week.
The Fall sports season is in full swing for kids of all ages.

ORR took tonight’s match over Dell St Mary tonight at the Rutland Gym.
I stopped by the DSU Fieldhouse of my way home from a session and caught a little VB action before heading back to the studio.
After a trip to town late Saturday morning, I decided to avoid the heat and catch some volleyball with my friends at the DSU Fieldhouse. Check out a few of the images below.
Good Luck to the ladies of the DSU volleyball team.
