Nicole’s Senior Video Slideshow – Brookings SD Senior Pictures
Nicole’s love is soccer. She came down with her mom yesterday afternoon to look at her senior pictures before she had to go to soccer practice back in Brookings. Her are her favorite senior pictures in a senior video slideshow.
Jordan’s senior video slideshow – Madison SD senior pictures
Mom and Dad have been wanting to show off Jordan’s images since his senior session a few weeks ago. Here are their (and Jordan’s) favorites in a senior video slideshow.
Contest time! Which of Jordan’s Art Posters do you like – Madison SD senior pictures
Jordan won a prom certificate at the Madison After Prom party which entitled him to an Adventure session and an Art Poster. We ended up making two different posters and right now he’s having a tough time deciding which one he should take home.
Do you like the B&W one or the color poster?
Branden Barefoot Waterskiing Art Poster – Chester SD senior pictures
We’ve been waiting for a while to show this image off.
Branden came to the studio for his senior picture session, but we couldn’t stop until we got what he really wanted: barefoot waterskiing pictures. Rachel and Dacey tagged along to Lake Brandt where we met up with Branden and a couple of his friends. You have to go fast in order to barefoot waterski. We made several passes taking pictures along the way as Branden showed off his skills. Check out that smile. You know he was havin’ fun.
Danielle’s senior video slideshow – Howard SD senior pictures
Danielle’s senior year at Howard High School has already started. It seems that school starts too early every Fall. We just sent out her senior pictures last night. Here are her favorites in a senior video slideshow.
Michael’s senior video slideshow – Howard SD senior pictures
Football practice must be tough at Howard High School. When Michael came to pick out his senior pictures, his arms were full of bruises. Here are Michael’s favorites in a senior video slideshow.
Krysta’s Art Poster – Howard SD Senior Pictures
Krysta won a prom certificate that entitled her to an Adventure Session and an Art poster. Rain on the day of her senior pictures caused us to go north to Brookings to finish up her outside senior pictures.
Here is Krysta’s Art Poster
Michael’s Art Poster
Michael won a prom certificate this Spring. The Art Poster is just one of the cool things included in the prom certificate. Tonight Michael and his parents came for their sales session. We had the Art Poster on an easel waiting for them when they walked through the door. I think Howard is going to have a great year of football if Michael has anything to say about it.
Shannon
Shannon is into life. You’ll never see her slowing down. Basketball, volleyball and track are her sports. We get tired just listening to her schedule. Here are Shannon’s favorites in a senior video slideshow from her Playtime Session with Makayla and her senior session with sister Chantel.
Alica
Alica starts school Monday in Berlin. Rutland SD is a long way to come for senior pictures. Alica was here for a summer visit with her friends in Madison where she was a exchange student at Madison High School. Alica tells us that senior pictures are not as popular in Germany as they are in the United States.
We had a great time wandering around Rutland on Wednesday morning with Alica and wish her all the best as she completes her last year of school in Germany before college. Maybe we will see her again soon.
Here are a few of Alica’s images in a senior video slideshow.

Girl (photographers) just wanna have fun!
We had just finished up Derek’s senior session. He had gone through a huge water puddle down by the Rambler Stop. Derek was soaked. He asked ElizaBeth if she wanted a ride back to the studio. Without any hesitation she ran over and hopped on the back of the four-wheeler. Derek headed straight for the puddle. This is the result.
Kacey
We headed south last week to photograph Kacey’s senior session starting at Falls Park in Sioux Falls. We used off camera flash and long lenses to isolate Kasey in front of the falls. We explored some of the more rustic areas of the park that turned out to be some of Kacey’s favorites. We finished up the session at the studio. Here are a few of our favorites. Watch for Kacey’s senior video slideshow next week.
Jessica
Jessica hails from Brookings High School. She loved her cheerleading pictures. Here are a few of her favorites.
Kelsey’s senior video slideshow
The camera loves Kelsey. She doesn’t take a bad picture…EVER. It was hard to edit Kelsey’s images on the computer. Of course we took too many shots. Because it was so windy in the afternoon, we waited until early evening to finish her outdoor pictures in Madison and at Lake Madison.
Here are her favorites in a video slideshow.
Kelsey – sneak peek
Here’s three from Kelsey’s favorites. Her senior video slideshow isn’t quite ready yet. Check back tomorrow to see all of her favorite images
Ryan’s senior video slideshow
Ryan teaches martial arts in Madison. His pride and joy is his pickup and he digs his grandpa’s 54 Chevy Bel Aire. Here are Ryan’s favorites in a senior video slideshow. Enjoy.
Kaitlin’s senior video slideshow
Here is Kaitlin’s senior video slideshow. Enjoy
Kaitlin
Kaitlin’s look changes dramatically when she takes off her glasses. At Lake Herman State Park on the tire swing, she showed us her normal side. In the studio, Kaitlin gave us the model look.
Makayla – Playtime session
We’ve been busy in the studio this week with reunions, families, babies, seniors and engagements. It’s time to post again. Here are a few from Makayla’s Playtime session.

Rutland Graduation
Rutland’s Class of 2010 graduated on Saturday. We gotten to know all of the kids over the years. Some we’ve know almost all of their lives. The gym was FULL at 2 in the afternoon. It was too wet for fieldwork with warm temps, hazy overcast and for once at graduation NO WIND! With all of the small schools in the area having commencement ceremonies on the same day, the Madison Daily Leader, asked if I would take a few pictures.
Megan Powell wrote a song for her senior project. Amber Misar performed it for the graduates before they received their diplomas. Here is a video that we put together with the images from yesterday accompanied by Amber Misar singing Megan’s song. Bill Shoup played the various instruments in the song.
Sneak Peak: Shannon and Makayla’s Playtime Session
ElizaBeth and I are getting all those last minute things wrapped up before seniors start graduating this Saturday.
Shannon and Makayla had a fun Playtime Session. We had beautiful skies and light wind. Here are just a couple to tease you with until we get the rest ready.
We are getting more and more calls for senior pictures this year. We still have plenty of openings left. Everyone seems to want August and September. Scheduling your senior session earlier in the summer has many advantages: we have more time to play, there are no conflicts with sports practices and the grass is greener while the lake is not.
DSU Graduation
I covered DSU Graduation on Saturday morning for the Madison Daily Leader. It was interesting to watch the photographers hired by DSU walk right in front of the podium in front of everyone. I could get the same shot with the big lens from the back. I wanted to help the gal taking pictures in front of the bright yellow backdrop. Flashes on brackets are used to keep the flash over the axis of the lens. She had the backet on backwards and didn’t bother to use the capabilities of the backet to flip the flash over the lens. She turned the camera vertical and had the flash off to the side which ends up giving you a march harsher side shadow. I wonder how their pictures will turn out.
Check out Moday’s Madison Daily Leader for more pictures. We did get pictures of all of the graduates getting their diplomas along with a few fun shots afterwards.
Lisa is graduating!
Our trainer Lisa is graduating from Dakota State on Saturday.
We’ve been working with Lisa for more than a year now. She is the reason that we can photograph a wedding and still feel fresh at the end of the day.
We always give Lisa a bad time, but she can take it and dish it out too.
Congratulations Lisa!
DSU Class of 2010 – Allie
Dakota State’s graduation isn’t very far away. Allie came out earlier this week for a fun cap and gown session. Here are a few of her favorites.
Clarice
Katie – Class of 2010
Katie is a pilot. How is that for cool! We had a great session starting at the Madison Airport and then finished up at the studio.
Here are a few from Katie’s senior session.

South Dakota Senior Photography: Chelsea’s Senior Slide Show Video
Senior Pictures: Not just for high school – The Postma twins graduate from SDSU today
We had some fun earlier this week when the Postma twins came in for some pictures in their caps and gowns prior to today’s graduation from South Dakota State University. Amber and the girls took a few together then we moved on to the rest of the session. We printed up a couple of 16×20’s for the party after graduation as a surprise.
Congratulations girls!

Bobby
Yes, we are still photographing seniors. Here is one of Bobby’s favorite.
Trevor
Kaleb’s session continued…
Kaleb came in today and finished his senior session cut short by a power outtage Thursday afternoon. The weather is better but the slush hasn’t melted off the roads yet. We are off to the Oldham tonight to photograph the Oldham-Ramona prom that was postponed last night due to the spring blizzard.
Kaleb
Kaleb came yesterday afternoon for his senior session. His session had to be rescheduled twice before due to snow, but yesterday we just went for it. Of course, the weather did not cooperate any better. We had to send him home early after the power went off and on, off and on and then stayed off. We are finishing his session tomorrow.
We are under a blizzard warning since last night. This is what it looked like in Rutland just before we left for Madison. The school is less than a block away.
Playtime…still coming!
We’ve decided to push our Playtime Sessions into the middle of April to avoid our still uncooperative weather.
If you are interested in having a Playtime Session in your prom dress, give ElizaBeth a call at the studio.
Andy – outside
We went to Andy’s house and finished his outdoor portraits up.
We tried to get Andy with his tractor but below zero temps forced us to reschedule. It’s not supposed to be below zero in March!
Brian’s announcement card
Brian’s sales session was tonight. He loved the card that EizaBeth designed for him.
Playtime Sessions coming soon…
Cold weather has delayed our Playtime Sessions this Spring. Cold, snow and prom dresses don’t mix well. As soon as it warms up a bit more we’ll be showing you more.
Brian
Brian came for his senior session today. It’s turned a bit warmer than the deep freeze of last week.
I used the high speed flash technique that I learned from Mike Fulton at the NL Winter Seminar. This allows us to get an image in bright sunlight that has shallow deep of field, isolating the subject from the background.
Andy
We are still busy with senior sessions. Andy came last friday morning. It was very cold.
Andy brought his favorite John Deere tractor for outside pictures. Because of the 10 degree below zero temperatures, we put off tractor pictures until it decides to warm up more.
Announcement card time!
Please send in your announcement card flyer with any changes you may have so we can get your cards printed.
Graduation is coming up fast.
