We are having to pump a little water out of the basement of the studio. It’s not a lot but because of all of the rain, the water table is much higher than it has been in recent memory. It’s put us a little behind schedule and we are working hard to get caught up. We wanted to reorganize the basement anyway, but not right now.

Standing right along the sidelines in Rutland for the annual Coop Bowl was not an option. Ankle deep mud and water kept our picture taking from behind the ropes where the ground was still very squishy.
The muddy conditions made a wild game with many fumbles and interceptions. After enduring more than four winless seasons, the Raiders pulled one out for the home crowd against Colman-Egan. It was fun to see Blake and Alex lead the team to victory. We did their senior pictures this summer.

You can lead a horse to water…
There is flooding almost everywhere in our area. Basements are being pumped out, roads are closed and anything along a creek is flooded like this pasture just to the south of Rutland. The new horse barn is very close to the water while the horses decided to abandon the dry high ground of the east end of the pasture and stand in the rising water.

The Bulldogs are facing a very tough schedule this Fall. I headed down to Dell Rapids after finishing up a senior session and got pictures from 4th quarter action. Since the Bulldogs were behind by a large margin, the clock didn’t stop and I didn’t get as many shots as I would’ve liked. Here are a couple from the end of the game.

I left for Sioux Falls at 3:00 on Friday afternoon. Howard and Chester were playing each other in the Prairie Bowl at Howard Wood Field. The game of these two rivals lived up to the hype.

I didn’t have a chance to grab a program so I need a little help identifying these players returning a kickoff. I expected Chris Shafer to catch the ball but the kick was short. Amber and Isaac’s engagement video slideshow – South Dakota Wedding Photography

Whenever Isaac used to come see Amber at the studio, you would see her face light up. Amber just has to think about Isaac and she gets a smile on her face. That’s love if I’ve ever seen it.
We did a few pictures of Amber and Isaac long before he proposed at Lake Herman State Park. Those were cool, but this time it was for real – engagement pictures. We started at their future home. The mosquitoes were ravenous and feasted on photographer as their main course. Before going inside the studio in Rutland, we had some fun outside. In town the bugs were not as bad.
They make a cute couple. What do you think?

I had to go home in the middle of the Raider/Elkton-Lake Benton VB game last Friday night. I had a taken a few images and was just finding the rhythm again. Taking great volleyball pictures takes practice. It’s hard to get the ball at the point of contact without the arms being in the way of someone’s face. I handed the camera over to ElizaBeth and she took more images during the next couple of games. Sure enough, come Monday as I processed the images for submission to the Madison Daily Leader, I found the shot I liked the best was taken not by me, but my very talented wife ElizaBeth.
