Lisa, our trainer at the community center, is a target and pretty good sport for all of the teasing we give her. Her goal in life is to work us hard enough that we are totally spent without causing us injuries. In the last year, Lisa has done a great job of motivating us. As ElizaBeth and I have gotten into better shape, we don’t feel soreness the next day as we once did. That means Lisa is doing something right. We spend many hours in front of the computer and that lack of movement is unhealthy. As we get older, the body doesn’t respond the way we want it to. It’s not easy to turn back time, but we can make slow consistent gains as long as we stick with the program. Having a trainer push you to the next level gives us the greatest returns for the time spent. It also means that we have someone to hold us accountable.
It was Lisa’s birthday a few weeks ago and we gave her a picture as a present. During the halftime of the DSU Homecoming FB game, Lisa and some of her friends were involved in a powderpuff flag FB game of their own. Here is the composite of some of the fun.
